As a fellow inhabitant of the European continent, I beg of you - steer Germany to do the right thing. As I've understood you grew up in East Germany, and if this is so than you cannot fail to see the similarities between what is now going on in Europe and what went on in Eastern Europe under Soviet influence. The European project, which was conceived to bring peace and prosperity through trade for mutual benefit, has evolved into a bureucratic hell, with it's own politbureu elite trying to take control of the lives of every person living in Europe.
I understand the tremendous pressure to keep Europe united, but it is by now very obvious that the European project, and most specifically the Euro currency, has failed. There is only one way to prevent future European geopolitical instability, and that is the withdrawal of Germany from the Euro. All the co-operative aspects of the European Union can still be maintained, but we cannot keep emulating a marxist dictatorship for much longer without becoming one. We can still have free trade and free movement. We cannot continue subsidizing irresponsibility and failure to adapt to a modern economic environment.
If there is to be any hope for prosperity in Europe, then the countries that refuse to adapt to monetary and fiscal reality must fail. Countries and banks, as well as individuals, must be allowed to fail under fair market principles. Wealth is currently being drained from all productive parts of the european economy, only to be sent to overpaid bureucrats in Brussels and crony bankers who rely on taxes to be paid to save them from their irresponsible speculation. The wealth of individual citizens is being destroyed every minute of every day until this is put to an end.
There are two paths, one leads to sharp pain and economic contraction, but possible future prosperity for Europe. The other leads to corruption, political instability, economic disaster and ultimately war. It is said "That government is best which governs least". Please set the people of Europe free from the burdens piling on to our backs, as well as the back of future generations. Please - save what is left of Europe before we all go down in a spiral of debt and currency destruction, out of which only vile beasts and violence will erupt. Please take that one step that no politician dares - please set your foot down and say ENOUGH. Please dare take responsibility for ending the despicable wreck that is called the European economy, so that we can build anew. Germany rebuilt and has prospered since the second world war, and we can all do so again if someone stops the corrupt political interests that try and centrally manage an entire continent.
I feel forced to issue this warning : Do not lay another Versailles treaty on the German population, for the benefit of irresponsible politicians and bankirs across Europe who refuse to face up to how they have cheated and deceived their own electorates. Dissolve the euro-zone before it is too late. Save us all from the hell that awaits in the future if we continue on this path.
Future generations will thank you.
