What does a dying stock market sound like? Well, we are about to find out. 3 hours until markets open, and we are already below -3% in the futures markets. We hovered around the recent lows of 1052 this morning (CET), after but after running through that it was another 10 ticks down where we hovered some more, and now we are sitting still around the February lows....
I had the pleasent experience of watching the "not-so-fat-finger-incident" a couple of weeks back occur in realtime, which sort of gives you perspective on things. You stare at the quotes, thinking "tic-tac-there's another 100 billion in wiped equity". Same thing today, and it's building up to be another one of those horrid panic days. If you listen closely, you can almost hear the desperate screams of Wall Street insiders who know that this is their doing - this is their cardhouse coming down. It's all an illusion - and there is more to come. Close your eyes and pretend that the Dow is at 5000, and then go plan your life from that feeling.
